Anna Eliza Stannard 10 years old



Picture of Anna Eliza Stannard at age 10 in 1856. Born April 3, 1846, Died September 12, 1922. She is buried at Indian River Cemetery Middlesex Co CT. She married Charles Titus Ward. Charles was in the Civil War as a drummer boy, Company B, 1st Regiment, Connecticut Heavy Artillary Volunteers. Her son, Harry Edwin Ward, a 1901 Yale graduate, was a very powerful man. Harry became a very wealthy New York Banker in the early 1900's and he was instrumental in setting up the Federal Reserve System, friends with Franklin Roosevelt when Franklin was Governor of New York and President. Harry retired as Chairman of the Irving Trust Bank. Harry E. Ward & Alfred P. Sloan set up the Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
